Regular Seattle Area Classes

Dan Newsome and Gaby Cook have come up with some extremely exciting, top-notch, modular classes that will each run one lesson, rotating through topics. At the Savoy Swing Club, we are always looking to promote all forms of jazz dance and we think this is a great way to promote variety

WHO: Everyone is welcome and you do not need a partner for class.

HOW MUCH: Class/Dance: SUMMER SPECIAL: $10 non-members . $7 SSC members Lesson includes dance admission.

I'M NEW...WHAT SHOULD I TAKE?:We suggest starting with the beginner class. After you've had basic experience then you can move to intermediate classes. If you have a dance background, or are just motivated, you are welcome to try any class, just be warned that the class moves at the pace of the average ability in the class.

Performances, Workshops and Fundraisers

"Jet City Swing" is a Lindy Hop team run by Daniel Newsome and Gabriella Cook designed to bring the energy of old school Lindy Hop together with modern and innovative dance ideas. Jet City Swing teaches classes, does community outreach and competes at national competitions with original choreographies. Members try out for a spot on team and do a year long season, practicing twice a week, performing and competing around the country. This year we have 16 members. They are available for corporate performances and school programs.

Gabriella also runs "The Sweethearts of Rhythm", an all-girls dance troupe inspired by vintage swing dance of the 20's, 30's and 40's. We perform all styles of dance of the jazz-era including charleston, tap, sultry blues, swing aerials other historical forms of movement. Our routines feature elaborate vintage costumes, comedy, music and crowd pleasing theatricality! We can arrange a full-girl routine, solo or small group performances, atmospheric performers, or tailor a service to suit you! Bring us in for your next corporate function, ball, fundraiser, festival, opening, fashion show, concert, bar or nightclub! We are also available for theatre, film and television.
